Kite Surfing is a thrilling surface water sport, and has been described as combining surfing, wake boarding, windsurfing and paragliding into one extreme sport. It harnesses the power of the wind to propel you across the water on a small kite board, which is similar to a wake board. Kite-surfing is the worlds fastest growing water sport, is easy to learn and is guaranteed to give you an incredibly exhilarating experience! Kite-surfing lessons
Lessons are available both privately or in a group of up to 4 people. Private lessons will give you one-on-one with your instructor, and the small group lessons ensure you will maximise your time. All instructors are fully IKO and VDWS qualified, and all equipment is brand new each year. Everything is provided for you – all you need to take is your swimwear, a towel and sun block! The team of instructors are multi-lingual, speaking English, French, Spanish and Arabic. Kite-surfing is taught in levels, and a 10 hour course would typically cover levels 1 to 3, by the end of which you should be up and riding.
Level 1
You will be taught to fly a 2 line kite on the beach, and gain an understanding of the wind, wind window, theory and safety.
Level 2
Flying a 4 line kite you will learn how to launch and land successfully, understand how to handle the kite and move in and out of the power zone. This will include body dragging in the sea, soft body dragging and power body dragging up wind.
Level 3
Water start – experience your first ride with the board and the kite.
Level 4
Riding with confidence – looking at extending your ride, your stance, how to ride up wind and your first jumps.
Level 5
Progression – improving your style and moving forward to perform basic and more complex wakeboard manoeuvres.
