Mirleft accommodation Mirleft

Mirleft is a small village to the south of Tiznit on the Atlantic coast, and about 2.5 hours from Agadir airport.  The town is very Moroccan – rarely will you see Moroccan women in the town itself!  A small market is held in the town where the men go to purchase the goods and local produce for their family, and the women work in the fields, manage the house and look after the children.

The beach is large and quiet, remote and peaceful, perfect for a romantic break or complete chill out.

Close to  Mirleft there is an oasis and a ruined fort, as well as the Spanish, Art-deco town of Sidi Ifni, the Saturday morning camel market at Goulimine and the Oasis of Tata on the Sahara plain.

Excursions (self drive or book through the Kasbah Tabelkoukt)

The Kasbah Tabelkoukt at Mirleft is a well-placed base for visiting the towns of Morocco’s “deep south” :

Tiznit and its fortified walls, palm groves and silver jewellery

Sidi Ifni and its Spanish art deco architecture

Tafraoute and its amazing rock formations.

Goulimine and its traditional camel market on Saturday morning, and Annual Camel Festival in July.

The oasis of Tata on the Sahara plain at the foot of Jebel Bani

Tarfaya in the Western Sahara

Massa and its bird and nature reserve

Taroudant and its magnificent pink-mud walls surrounded by Orchards of orange trees and olive groves

Agadir and its restaurants and nightlife.  Timitar Music Festival – June each year is well worth a look!
