Villa Maroc - Briefly

Villa Maroc was the first Riad in Essaouira to open its doors as a guesthouse.  Its wonderfully relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, rustic, traditional style, friendly, helpful staff and excellent situation just inside the city walls makes it a prime location in every sense for a relaxing and stimulating stay in a bustling little town on the Moroccan coast.

Villa Maroc - Completely

Villa Maroc is just minutes from the beach, with stunning views over the city and port from its roof terraces.  It has several comfortable salons, courtyards and dining areas, and although quite large in Riad standards, it still feels like you are staying in a private house.  The staff are attentive, the food delicious and the rooms simple but very comfortable.  It is the ideal location for experiencing life in a busy yet chilled out city.

The 17 rooms and suites and 2 two bedroom apartments all have fans and heating, and the superior rooms and suites have a fireplace.  We do not recommend the standard rooms for couples as they are quite small, but they are perfectly adequate for single occupancy.

The popular restaurant is well known for its excellent fish and seafood dishes.  Traditional Moroccan cuisine combined with European culinary skills makes for deliciously sophisticated Souiri specialties.  Using local produce, the menu is different every day with a choice of fish, meat and vegetarian dishes, meaning you will never get bored!  Breakfast and dinner are included, and served in one of the small intimate salons, alcoves or terraces.  Lunch is available on request.

Cornelia Hendry – owner and chef has published a recipes book – “Villa Maroc Food”, revealing her secrets to the art of producing Moroccan cuisine using her European flare and methods.  Why not join their cookery workshop during your stay – please ask for further details.
