Riad Kaiss - Briefly

Renovated by the famous French hotel designer Christian Ferre, the Riad Kaiss was once the Harem (forbidden place) for Sultan Moulay Yacoub’s favourite concubine.  It is now traditionally decorated with warm earthy-pink walls, emerald green, deep blue and ochre zelige tiles and colourful paintwork.  Its majestic sun terraces and courtyard gardens are just a stones throw from the UNESCO world heritage site of the D’jemaa el Fna – the central point of Marrakech city life.

Riad Kaiss - Completely

Riad Kaiss is located on a quiet side street, close to the El Badii, Bahia and Royal Palaces, Saadian Tombs, Mellah (old Jewish Quarter) and souks, so is perfectly placed for the exploration of this vibrant city on foot.

The beautiful main courtyard is filled with pomegranate, orange and lemon trees, and has a wonderful bubbling fountain at its centre.  Little alcoves with cushions are built into the walls, providing shady spots to sit and listen to the melodic birdsong, sip your mint tea, read a book, contemplate..…

The roof terraces offer both sun beds and cool covered corners, and a small yet inviting swimming pool for those hot summer days.  There are also two comfortable salons in the Riad, each equipped with an open fireplace for the cooler, chilly evenings.
