Hotel Tichka, Marrakech
“We felt we did well to stay at a western hotel in the Ville Nouvelle, rather than a riad in the medina. Taxis are easy and very cheap (negotiating is not a hassle). The terrace, gardens and pool at the Tichka are every bit as good as they look in the photos, the staff are very friendly (as we found all over Morocco). The hotel is a bit dated in places, and (a) being a low time for tourism to Morocco, and (b) charging more for dinner than most guests were willing to pay, lacked a bit of buzz – except for the wasps attracted by honey at breakfast.” GC July 2011
